This sweet fawn forges her own path. She emerges from a hand carved floral landscape, inspired by Jacobean Crewel embroidery. Images of stylized forests, exotic plants, and woodland animals flourished in England in the first quarter of the 17th century.

Do not go where the path may lead,
go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Genuinely Handmade in Our Studio
The charm started as a block of wax. I carved the quaint scene in wax, then we cast it in sterling silver in our studio using the lost wax casting method. The solid sterling silver charm hangs from sterling silver chain. The necklace is given a dark patina to create depth in the design. Finally, I polish the piece by hand, resulting in a rich satin sheen.

The organic nature that lost wax casting can produce is what we are after; evidence that our pieces originate in our heads and hearts, and have been made by our own hands. Our aim is to avoid the sterile, machine made look, and instead infuse warmth and genuineness into our creations.
